22% Donation

 

WHY? To bolster our commitment to equality, social justice, animal welfare, and integrity, Lean Towards Joy™ has committed to donate a large percentage of all product revenue to these causes. 

HOW? So how did 22% come about? It started by wanting to do something different than other companies. A common practice amongst companies is to say they donate a % of profits. But then as a consumer, you never know what that profit is? Consumers don't see how much the product costs or the overhead involved. Therefore a seemingly generous 50% of profit on a $30 could end up only being $1.25.

 

We want to be as transparent as possible. At shopjoy.org we wanted to donate more than half of all revenue after production costs. So here is the breakdown:

• We spend more than 50% of the purchase price on manufacturing the product.
• We donate 22% of the purchase price to spectacular organizations.
• We use the remaining percentage to make sure the lights stay on and to grow our heartfelt company.

So there you have it, rather than leave you wondering about how much we are donating, we tell you! On every product page we tell you how much will be donated. The only thing we deduct is the credit card processing fees if there are any. 

WHERE? Where do we make the donations? Check out these awesome organizations. Each collection on shopjoy.org has a cause it supports. We've chosen three select organizations based off of their impact on the world. When purchasing from these collections a portion of your purchase will go to supporting one of the chosen organizations ensuring you are adding value to the world with every purchase. Want to spread more joy? You can make a direct donation to the organization from each product page.

 

WHEN? We want to make sure each customer is fully satisfied with their purchase. After all, we want to spread joy not headaches! Once we know you are satisfied with your purchase (30 days from delivery) we add your donation to the donation check we send to the organizations quarterly.
